Preparing for winter photography

I know . . . I know.

Most of us aren’t finished with autumn photography yet. And, some of us wish we could get a do-over with summer. Still, winter is fast approaching as this morning’s light frost reminded us. Personally, I think winter is a great time for photography, especially in Upstate New York and most especially in Central New York State, which is one of the snowiest regions of the country.

Winter can seem to go on forever, that’s for certain. So, that’s all the more reason we need to get prepared to make the most of it. Of course all this is just my way of leading up to mention of my upcoming day-long workshop Preparing for Winter Photography at Baltimore Woods in Marcellus, NY. With past experience as a measure, in addition to touching on everything from long johns to frozen fingers, this should be a lot of fun. And, if you’re not sure you’re going to relish getting out in the cold this winter, we’ll give you plenty of great photography that all you need is your kitchen table to enjoy – close-up and macro photography. But, let’s not think about that right now.

Let’s think about getting all our friends who enjoy photography to join us at Baltimore Woods on November 18. And I just had an idea . . . lunch on me for everyone who registers by Halloween.
