Winter’s almost gone . . .

Is one season better than another for photography?

Spring gets my vote right now! Of course, that will change as we get closer to summer, then closer to autumn.

Bucktail Falls is often a highlight of the CNY Waterfalls tour.

But spring is arriving just in time. We have all waited (patiently or not) for the pages of the calendar to disclose fresh opportunities for our photography. For months, my personal calendar has included several anticipated photo opportunities that will soon take center stage.

As I look at the calendars for May to October my enthusiasm grows for what lies ahead. Below I’ve listed several upcoming nature photography workshops. Each of these has been carefully developed (pun intended) to focus (oops, pun intended again) on those elements of photography that will further our ability to produce expressive and artful photographs of Mother Nature in all her glory.

While we will certainly return home after each workshop with many “keepers” (I use that word even though I don’t really like it) that’s not

Quiet waters of the Adirondacks

our primary objective. Rather, whether at venues ranging from the Waterfalls and Streams of CNY, the mountain landscapes of the Adirondacks, the spring beauty of the Shenandoah National Park or the autumn glory of Northeastern Pennsylvania we will concentrate on those elements that lead us to create truly meaningful images . . . images “about” our subjects and not just “of” them . . . images we and others will want to spend time enjoying.

There’s more information about each of these opportunities on my website. Simply click the links below. Most of these workshops have registrations already and all can only accommodate eight (8) participants, so please register soon if you would like to join us.
