Introduction to f/8 Insights – Tips, Tricks & Techniques
It’s always great when someone asks a question about photography that someone else, a little more experienced typically, is able to answer. This scenario quite often plays out around my workshops or presentations. It’s amazing how often the same questions come up. Sometimes even from the same person. While the answers may have been just what was needed in the moment, they can easily be forgotten in the rush of activity surrounding a workshop or presentation.
All this led me to create f/8 insights, a program I am developing to help people get into enjoying photography . . . landscape and nature photography in particular. It is my hope that I will be able to make your entrance into the enjoyment of photography proceed a little faster and therefore help you get past the frustration that can be expected when first undertaking any endeavor. As your skills and therefore your confidence grow, so too will the content of f/8 insights. I’m beginning with a few “Tips, Tricks & Techniques” on my site that you can view and review as often as you’d like. f/8 insights is intended to be a practical source of useful, or simply interesting information related to landscape and nature photography. I hope it will be helpful to your experience.
I hope you’ll find the following sample “Tips. Tricks & Techniques” interesting and/or useful. If that’s the case you might want to subscribe below to f/8 insights and I will e-mail you new columns as I make them available.
I’m looking to make it as broad-ranging as is practical. As we go forward subscribers can expect exclusive short videos and podcasts added to their email delivered f/8 insights. I will also be adding another feature for subscribers that I hope you will find valuable: Image Reviews. This feature isn’t quite ready yet but it should be soon and when it is, I’ll post a note here and let all subscribers know, too. The idea is to share some practical insights about particular images that will be helpful as you grow in knowledge and experience. Along the way, if you have a specific question I can address or maybe even a useful tip of your own that I can pass along please use the f/8 insights submission form here.
