f/8 insights adds newsletter & Meet-up group
A newsletter along with scheduled classes and photoshoots have recently been introduced to f/8 insights, all under the auspices of Tom Dwyer Photography.
Following a recent survey designed to determine the interests of the members of the meetup group, f-8 photoclasses.com, a schedule of classes and events is being announced for the coming weeks. While currently scheduled classes and events are listed below, the main source of information related to these will be at f-8photoclasses.com. The next upcoming class will be held from 7 to 9 pm on Tuesday, October 15 in the program room of the Baltimore Woods Nature Center in Marcellus, NY. This FREE class about “Using the frame – when is it best to fill the frame and when is it not”, was the subject identified in the survey as of interest to the most members of the group.
All members, however, are encouraged to join us for the evening to participate in a broader discussion about what the subject matter for future classes and photoshoots.
The class for this evening will focus on “Using the whole frame: When is it best to fill the frame and when is it not. What’s the impact of filling the frame?” There is no charge for this class.
The next event (photoshoot) on the schedule filled-up within two days of being posted on the Meetup website. It will explore “Water Drop Photography” and will be hosted by f-8 photoclasses.com member Sandi Patnode, Saturday, November 9 from 1 – 4 pm at her home. If there continues to be interest in this event, we certainly try to schedule it again in the near future, since participation must be limited to eight (8) members. Classes being planned for the third Tuesday of each month, also at Baltimore Woods and also from 7-9 pm. The subject for November 19th will be Depth of Field: Knowing what the DOF window is, using DOF to identify your subject, creating a different DOF and more.
The next photoshoot is scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, starting at 10 am at Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards in Lafayette, NY.
