Day 8 -Hundred Day Photo Challenge

I liked the starkness of this stand or trees and the blue gave it a cooler feeling.

Often, I think, as in this example of a winter farmstead, it adds to the somewhat bleak look of winter.

I took a total of three images early this morning as a day of in and out snow showers got underway. I was in a hurry (why does that sound so typical?) to get down to St. Joe’s Hospital so I decided to head straight to Strong Road near Tully, NY because it would give me quick access to I-81 and a direct shot into Syracuse and the hospital. The snow was light and while I had my high-top winter boots on, I wasn’t really dressed for a serious excursion into the cold. Therefore, I didn’t venture beyond the side of the road. I immediately started looking for compositions within that limitation that would communicate winter cold in the country. In post-capture, I converted one image to black and white and with the other two, I boosted the hint of blue light of the capture to cool down the image a little. To me, that conveyed more of the winter’s presence.
