Day 49 of my Journey
Acts of the Apostles 16:14b – Open our hearts, O Lord, to listen to the words of your Son.
How can we take in a view like this without opening our hearts? The combination of a brilliant morning sun, backlighting frost covered trees overhanging Limestone Creek near Manlius, NY this morning was too good to just pass by. I only had moments as morning traffic whizzed by and an approaching business appointment loomed. But, I had to stop and grab a couple snaps before getting back to my day. Later, I converted the image from color to black and white to get the rendition shown here.
I had tried to take a couple photos earlier in the morning on a different stream. Unfortunately, I hurried to quickly and thought I could hand hold the camera when it really should have been on a tripod. I also didn’t take time to really find a good perspective. I knew better and I thought about what I should have been doing but I didn’t listen to my own internal urgings. The results were what I deserved.
Even here, I think I could have done better had I made the exercise a deliberate one rather than a hurried one. Our Lord can present the opportunities but we still have to step up and make the most of them, using the knowledge, skill and talents He’s graced
